I’ve been a musician most of my life. I was lucky enough to learn to play my first instrument from a dear family friend when I was very young, and I haven’t stopped making noise since! I am also a scholar of music history, and completed a portion of my PhD coursework in musicology and historical performance practice (Renaissance and Baroque). Here’s a quick demo of how some of my musical and literary interests intersect!
I currently perform with the Los Angeles-based choral ensemble Artes Vocales. In addition to hanging out in the soprano section, I work behind the scenes on our programming and currently serve as Associate Artistic Producer for the ensemble. I’m extremely proud to have produced our Requiem Reflections multimedia concert (June 2018), where I got to put my dramaturgy and theater production background to work in a musical context. My musical and theatrical worlds also unite with my work in opera dramaturgy.
Before coming to Los Angeles, I performed with these musical groups, among others:
Apostasy Ensemble (Santa Cruz, CA)
UC Santa Cruz Early Music Consort
Resonanda Ensemble (Providence, RI)
UC Berkeley Collegium Musicum
UC Berkeley Opera Workshop
